What is a flat or slim water bottle?

A flat or slim water bottle uses a narrow front-to-back profile instead of a wide round body. DRNK Slim is 28mm deep while holding 17oz / 500ml, helping it sit more neatly in bags and narrow storage spaces.

Will a 500ml DRNK bottle fit beside a laptop?

It is designed for laptop bags and narrow side pockets. At 28mm deep, a 500ml DRNK Slim takes up less front-to-back space than a typical round bottle, although exact fit depends on the dimensions of your bag or sleeve.

What is the difference between DRNK Steel and Tritan?

Slim Steel uses 304 stainless steel and has a more substantial feel. Slim Tritan uses BPA-free Tritan, is lighter and shatter-resistant, and is bundled with a fabric sleeve. Both use the same 28mm profile and 17oz / 500ml capacity.

Is it hard to clean?

No, but it needs the right method, and we'd rather tell you than let you find out.

A Purdue University study of everyday reusable bottles found coliform bacteria in more than one in five, and organic film on the outside of every bottle tested, including two brand-new ones bought off a shelf as controls. The cause is rarely the material. It's biofilm: a layer that forms in threads, seals and corners and survives a rinse, because a rinse never reaches it. The study was explicit that washing a bottle without getting into its hidden crevices leaves biofilm behind.

DRNK Slim is a square profile. That's what lets it disappear into a bag, and it also means a round brush cannot reach the four interior top corners. Round bottles have the same problem in different places: the thread grooves, the seat where the seal sits, and the underside of the lid. A brush cleans the wall it can touch. It doesn't clean the geometry.

That's why we recommend a cleaning tablet. It dissolves through the whole bottle at once and reaches every surface the water reaches. Drop one in, fill with warm water, leave it, rinse.

We don't sell tablets and we don't earn anything if you buy them. Any supermarket brand works. Weekly is enough for water. More often if you've put anything sweetened in it, because sugars and milk feed bacteria far faster than water does.

Is it leakproof?

Yes, and we can tell you exactly how we know.

Twenty bottles, filled, sealed, and hung upside down for seven days without interruption, each given a hard manual shake every day. That's 3,360 bottle-hours of continuous inverted pressure on the seal. Not one leak.

We ran it because we had just finished a new lid, and we weren't willing to put it next to anyone's laptop until we'd tried to make it fail.

Why does the lid feel different?

Because we threw the first one away.

The original DRNK lid was steel. Right on paper, wrong in the hand: top-heavy on a slim body, and it made a faint grinding sound every time it turned. A bottle you open thirty times a day shouldn't make a noise you notice.

So we cut a new mould from scratch. The lid is now ABS with a fixed silicone seal. Lighter, silent to close, and sealed as one piece with no removable gasket to lose, perish, or forget to put back.

Most brands would have shipped the first lid. It worked.
